The Detroit Red Wings announced on Thursday that they have extended their working agreement with the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins.

The deal is for the next five seasons, so the Griffins will remain a Wings affiliate through the 2021-22 season.

The Griffins won the AHL's Calder Cup in June with a six-game triumph over the Syracuse Crunch.
