Red Sox Will Not Retain Farrell As Manager
The Boston Red Sox announced on Wednesday morning that team will not bring back manager John Farrell for the 2018 season.
The Red Sox won the World Series under Farrell back in 2013, and won the American League East this season before being eliminated by the Houston Astros in four games in the AL Division Series.
Farrell took over the reins in Boston in 2013 from Terry Francona, who's now the manager for the Cleveland Indians. Farrell's 2018 club option was picked up last winter, so the team must pay him off for next season.
