Ralph Branca (pictured), the pitcher who gave up the famous "Shot Heard 'Round The World" to Bobby Thomson in the third and final game of the 1951 National League playoff series, has died at the age of 90.

Branca was on the mound for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 9th inning of the final game when he faced New York Giants slugger Bobby Thomson with two runners on and one out at the Polo Grounds in New York.  Thomson's home run gave the Giants a 5-4 victory over Brooklyn.
