Here are the Prep Basketball Weekly Players and Coaches of the Year
BOYS BASKETBALL
Player of the Year: Riley Lewis, Sr. Williamston. Averaged 27.7 points/game. Led the Hornets to a CAAC White Co-Championship. Plus, a Class B District and Regional Championship and a berth in the Class B Semifinals. Going to Hope College next season.
Coach of the Year: Steve Finamore, East Lansing. Led the Trojans to an undefeated regular season, a CAAC Blue Championship, and a Class A District title. Has 7 of the top 9 scorers returning next season.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Player of the Year: Taryn McCutcheon, Sr. East Lansing. Averaged 19.6 points/game and 5.4 assists/game. The Trojans were 2-5 when Taryn arrived, ended the year 19-7. CAAC Blue Champions. Class A District and Regional Champions. Headed to Michigan State next season.
Coach of the Year: Mark Lasceski, St. Johns. Led the Lady Red Wings to a CAAC Red Co-Championship. Class A District and Regional Champions. Made the Class A Semifinals.
