Summer of 2022 flew by. Where did the time go? Fall is on our doorsteps and ready to make an entrance.

I am still in summer "sports" mode while including fall sports. I am still playing catch outside with my kids with a baseball and now we've included the football. I am not ready to let baseball go yet. The reality is, time outdoors tossing the ball is coming to an end and we will need to find new things to do this fall and winter.

Bowling is something that I have done more in the past two years (no radio affiliated leagues) for fun, then I have ever done in my life. It's a lot of fun getting out with the family to create new memories and some healthy and friendly competition. We've used the bumpers for the kids and have had a fun time doing "geometry" bowling. Geometry bowling is when you utilize what you learned in school to use a bumper once or more to take out your pins. My wife has gotten good at that. I bowl a normal game, without bumpers, although the bumper has saved me from a gutter ball on more than one occasion.

Bowling alleys have changed over the decades. Bowling alleys used to be just that, a place to go bowling. Now bowling alleys have laser tag, escape rooms, arcades and more. It's a complete entertainment outing.

Dr. Dan Rad thinks Royal Scot is rad:

Royal Scot is a huge facility offering golf and bowling for entertainment. Participating in a bowling tournament led me to Royal Scot and it's bowling establishment is first rate
The facility did a great job accommodating the hundreds of players, as well as the three times as many parents and supporters. The facility was clean and fully functional with adequate staffing for maintenance, food counter, and bar service.

Great establishment we had a very fun time. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. The person working the front desk let us play until 10:30 even though they closed at ten and provided excellent service. Also the food was delicious along with the drinks. Definitely a good place to bowl.

Char-Lanes - 1780 Lansing Rd, Charlotte, MI 48813

Brittany was surprised:

My family went here today for the first time. The town I grew up in has some janky, busted up bowling alleys, so I always assumed that's how they all were. This place is super clean, up to date, and organized. Staff was very friendly and helpful, from putting bumpers up to finding the right ball for my kid. Good prices, and a self-serve Keno machine. We will definitely be back!!!

I drove up from Jackson to hang out. They closed early, around 12/12:30 in the morning. They usually close at 2, I'm told. I don't drink. They have Coke products, so I got a Cherry Coke. My friends enjoyed several different kinds of shots. The bartender was friendly. It was busy for most of the time we were there. All in all, it was a good night.
