The Detroit Pistons announced on Thursday that they have hired Memphis Grizzlies executive Ed Stefanski and have put him in charge of upcoming front office changes within the organization, including Director of Basketball Operations, General Manager, and Head Coach.

Pistons owner Tom Gores fired former Director of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Stan Van Gundy earlier this month with a year left on Van Gundy's contract.

It has been reported by ESPN that the team is looking at fired Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey as a leading candidate for head coach.

Detroit missed the playoffs this season with a 39-43 record, the eighth time in the last nine seasons that the team has missed the postseason.
