The San Diego Padre's (5-7) beat the Detroit Tigers (6-4) this afternoon in San Diego, 5-1. The first run was scored by Jedd Gyorko with a single run homer at the bottom of the second. Detroit would tie the game at the top of the 4th when a line drive single hit by Victor Martinez brought in Torii Hunter for a run. San Diego scored 3 runs in the 4th, when a double from Will Venable scored runs from Chase Headley and Yonder Alonso. Shortly after, a single hit by Tyson Ross allowed a run to be scored by Venable. The final run would be scored by The Padre's in the 7th inning when Xavier Nady hit a single run homer. The Tigers take on the Cleveland Indians on Wendsday, broadcast time starts at 6:40PM on Lansing's Big Talker, 1240 AM, WJIM.
