Elly is off to a great start this winter for the lady Pirates.  She had 31 points in their double overtime victory over East Lansing on the road two weeks ago.  In that game, Elly hit a half-court shot at the end of double OT to give P-W the 66-63 victory.

And then last week, she had 14 points in P-W's 33-22 victory over perennial CMAC power Portland St. Patrick.  Elly is also averaging 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals so far.  And she runs track for the Pirates this coming spring.

Elly is a great student, carrying a 3.9 grade point average.  She is undecided on a college, but wants to study to become a teacher someday.

And congratulations to Pewamo-Westphalia junior Elly Bengal of the undefeated girls basketball team.  She's the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.

And it's brought to you every week by Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission.
