Ohio State's marching band is back in the news, and once again it's not for good reasons.

Stewart Kitchen, a 28-year-old drum instructor for the band, has been charged with raping and kidnapping an Ohio State student.

The New York Post reports Kitchen is accused of inviting an undergraduate student to his home earlier this month, raping her then repeatedly refusing her pleas to be taken home.

Kitchen is an OSU alum who has worked as an instructor with the band since 2014. The Post reports he has been giving private lessons for several years. The news comes just months after a university investigation into the OSU marching band revealed findings last summer of an overly sexualized culture and hazing.

In July, Ohio State University fired its band director after the two-month investigation uncovered multiple hazing-like traditions and a culture of overt sexuality that some considered harassment. Among the university’s findings were sexually explicit nicknames and alternate lyrics for other college’s fight songs, many of which were sexually explicit, as well.
