ESPN's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne are reporting that the New York Knicks have fired their head coach, Derek Fisher after a season and a half at the helm.

The Knicks are 23-31 on the season, good for 12th in the Eastern Conference.  They've lost 5 in a row and 9 out of their last 10.

ESPN says that Kurt Rambis will be the interim head coach.  Fisher's record in New York is 40-96.
