When Michigan State hosts Notre Dame this Saturday night at Spartan Stadium, they will be playing for the Megaphone Trophy.

The two schools have played for the Megaphone since 1949, and according to the MSU Football Media Guide, the Detroit chapters of both schools donated the trophy as the prize for the victor of the then-annual football game.

The ND-MSU football series will be off until 2026, ND leads the overall series 48-29-1, with the tie being the famous 10-10 tie of 1966.
