The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Donovan Winter, a highly touted Michigan State football verbal commitment from the Orlando, FL area, did not sign his National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday because he was arrested late Monday evening.

The Sentinel says that Winter is still in an Orlando-area jail after being arrested on charges of burglary and stealing a firearm.

Winter was slated to sign his NLI on Wednesday morning, but did not show up at his high school's signing ceremony.  When reached for comment, Winter's head coach, as well as his father, declined comment on the situation.
