MSU Baseball Headed to Big Ten Tournament
A big win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the final regular season Big Ten game of the year for the Michigan State Spartan baseball team placed them in the conference tournament.
Saturday's 8-3 MSU victory allowed the Spartans, 20-30 overall, to finish the season with an 11-12 record in conference play.
The No. 8 seed Spartans will face off against the No. 1 seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers in the eight team tournament at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
The Golden Gophers hold a 37-13 overall record with 18 wins and only four losses coming from within the Big Ten.
A loss against Minnesota would place Michigan State against the loser of Illinois and Indiana's first round game for a chance to continue playing.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 23 to May. 27, with the final game scheduled for 2 p.m. ET in Omaha, Nebraska.
Michigan State has not won the Big Ten regular season title since 2011 and has never won a Big Ten Baseball Tournament title.
