Don't shoot the messenger, but...

More snow is on the way for Michigan.

More Snow for Michigan's Weather Forecast This Week

I know you're probably sick of all the frigid cold and snow by now, but sadly, Michigan's winter isn't done with us yet.

WLNS Meteorologist, David Young, gives us the heads up that Michigan, and more specifically south Michigan in the lower peninsula, will see more snow tonight (Thursday, February 24th) and through into tomorrow. Take a look at his predictions, below.

2 - 4 Inches of Snow for Lansing and Ingham County

It looks like Lansing, Ingham County, and the surrounding Mid Michigan areas will see about 2 to 4 inches of snow by around noon tomorrow (Friday, February 25th). Some outlying areas may see a little more, perhaps upwards of 6 inches; and some areas may see a little less, possibly as little as just one inch of snow.

Thankfully, this is a whole lot less than Lansing got on February 2nd. Lasing got 13.3 inches of snow on the 2nd, and broke the record previously held on that day, which was 8.4 inches set back in 2011. I affectionately call that day Snowmageddon 2022. You can check out all kinds of crazy pictures from that day's snow, here.

Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southwest Michigan

In addition to the snow, watch out for slick road conditions during your Friday morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a "hazardous weather outlook" warning for portions of southwest Michigan, including Ingham and the surrounding counties, like Ionia, Clinton, Jackson, and more.

Warm Winter Weather on the Way for Michigan?

Hearing about more snow and hazardous road conditions might be upsetting, especially since just a few days ago, the National Weather Service said there was a pretty good chance that we'd see some "above normal" temperatures for February 21st through the 27th. But don't fret just yet.

Taking a look at Lansing's 10-day forecast from the Weather Channel, it looks like we won't see any high temperatures fall below freezing. There's a good range going from 33 to 48 degrees. So, it's not time to put away those hats and mittens just yet, but perhaps soon.

A Look at Michigan's February 2022 Snowstorm

Michigan saw a huge snowstorm last week, the first of the season. It was the first this season, but it may not be the last. Lansing saw 13.3 inches of snow in a 24 hour period, which set new records for February snowfall. Other parts of Michigan saw a little bit more or less. Here are some pictures of the snow to show just how much over a foot of snow is.
