Congratulations to Holt for clinching a share of the CAAC Blue title with a 16-13 home victory over East Lansing.  They didn't make the poll this week.  But they'll need to beat 5-3 Ann Arbor Huron to clinch a playoff berth in Division 1.

Also, congratulations are in order for Fowler and Pewamo-Westphalia as they clinched a share of the CMAC title with victories last Friday.

We still only have one unbeaten team left in the area.  And that's Mason.  The Bulldogs took care of Jackson last Friday, and should end up 9-0 as they host 0-8 Eaton Rapids.

The same ten teams that were in the poll last week are in the poll this week.  The order is different, as I took last Friday's results into account.

Having said that, here's this week's top 10 poll:

Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 (After Week 8)

There are twenty area teams that are in the playoffs entering Week 9 of the regular season.  Teams like Holt, Grand Ledge, Waverly, Lakewood, Lansing Catholic, Laingsburg, and Bath need victories to clinch a playoff berth.  While Sexton, Perry, Leslie, Stockbridge, and Dansville are on the outside looking in.  But one victory can get them into the postseason.

Some of the top games this week are:  DeWitt at Waverly, Ann Arbor Huron at Holt, Haslett at Jackson, Williamston at Sexton, Portland at Berrien Springs, Pewamo-Westphalia at Lansing Catholic, Stockbridge at Dansville, Bath at Perry, Fowler at Leslie, Montrose at Laingsburg, and Corunna at Ovid-Elsie.

But the game that we'll have on The Game 730 AM WVFN this Friday night is the CAAC Blue tilt between the 6-2 Grand Ledge Comets and the 6-2 East Lansing Trojans from Lynn C. Adams Stadium in East Lansing.

Broadcast coverage begins on Friday night with the pregame at 6:00pm.  And then Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love will have the game coverage just before 7:00pm.  You can also hear the game at thegame730am.com or on The Game 730 AM app on your smart device.
