There's one 12-year-old Mid Michigan boy that's extremely excited today as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan announced their winner of the sixth annual #MIKidsCan Turkey Day VIP Sweepstakes.

Oliver Long, from Morrice (between Flint and Lansing) in Shiawassee County, scored a Detroit Lions prize pack which includes an autographed Replica Detroit Lions game ball and a custom Detroit Lions jersey. He also won a $1,000 grocery gift card to be used towards Thanksgiving dinner with his family. Now that's what I call a prize pack, congrats Oliver!

Long family:

We’d like to thank Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Detroit Lions for this amazing prize. Oliver and his brother Griffin have been brought up watching the Lions and all of Michigan’s sports teams, and as they get older it amazes us with the knowledge they have of the players on the Lions roster. Oliver hopes to one day be playing for the team.

According to Fox 47, over 2,600 entries were received for this year's sweepstakes, an overwhelming response compared to last year’s entry total.

The contest/sweepstake highlights children’s health and asks families to share how they get active for 60 minutes on Thanksgiving Day. The whole point is to encourage kids to embrace healthy habits and tries to get them to be active for at least 60 minutes every day. Hell, I'd be happy if I could get my kid to be active for six minutes.
