Michigan State’s First Goal is in Front of Them With Indiana Game
Michigan State's first goal is in front of them on Saturday when they host Indiana.
Becoming bowl eligible.
Sure, it's not something to get excited about necessarily, but after a 3-9 season last year Mark Dantonio has some perspective on the matter and does see the 6-win mark as a stepping stone for the rest of the year.
Indiana might come in to Saturday's game against Michigan State with a winless Big Ten record, but when you consider their opponents (Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State) that will tell you something about how this game will be no easy win for Michigan State. A fact Dantonio is reiterating.
The Big Ten so far has been favorable to Michigan State. A 3-0 record sits them among the leaders of the East division (Ohio State is currently 4-0) and with both Penn State and Ohio State still to come, their destiny is still in their own hands.
However, overlooking the rest of October's opponents is not something Michigan State plans on doing. Especially considering both Indiana and Northwestern (next week's opponent) both beat Michigan State last year. In fact for Indiana it was the first time they beat a Dantonio coached Spartans team.
Michigan State hosts the Indiana Hoosiers for homecoming in East Lansing. Kickoff is at 3:30 P.M. and you can catch all the action on your home for Spartan football, Classic Rock 94.9 WMMQ and Lansing's Big Talker, 1240 WJIM.
