Notre Dame and Michigan State haven't played a football game since 2013. Now the rivalry will be renewed in a big way in 2016.

That's right, MSU under the lights in South Bend in mid-September!

Since Notre Dame shifted to be a "part-time" ACC member the Irish haven't had enough available dates to keep up certain rivalries. Michigan and Michigan State were among those on the chopping block.

The 2016 meeting will the 78th meeting between the two schools. Notre Dame leads the series 48-28-1 over the Spartans.

Notre Dame is on a current three game winning streak in the rivalry.
