The MSU athletic department and Fox Sports are close to coming to terms on a multimedia rights deal that would be one of the most profitable in all of college sports.

The Sports Business Journal reports Michigan State would get $150 million over 15 years. It will be an additional revenue stream for Spartan athletics, which operate on a $107 million budget in the current fiscal year.

Will Tieman, who owns the Spartan Sports Network and is the play-by-play voice of MSU basketball, told the Lansing State Journal that the deal with Fox Sports will not affect broadcasting rights for MSU sports.

MSU reportedly is the last school in major college athletics to outsource its multimedia rights. The deal will also cover corporate sponsorships.
