For the 3rd time... The Michigan State football schedule has been released. It looks like it could be a long season for MSU fans.

The Spartans open up with Rutgers on October 24th. Of course all the times are to be announced. It's a small window for the Big 10 to cram 8 games and a conference championship game down the throats of the people selecting the College Football Playoff.

October 24. At home vs Rutgers.

October 31. At Michigan.

November 7. At Iowa.

November 14. At home vs Indiana.

November 21. At Maryland.

November 28. At home vs Northwestern.

December 5. At home vs Ohio State.

December 12. At Penn State.

It looks like it could be a tough first year for coach Mel Tucker. It could have been worse, the University of Miami Florida was on the schedule. They are in the top 20 after beating another top 20 team Arkansas 47-34 this past weekend... When the MSU game was originally scheduled.

We will have ALL the Spartan games on if they are going to be played. Halloween at the empty Big House should be haunting.

There are no sure things. You would hope a convincing season opening win against Rutgers would get them off to a good start but Rutgers starts the Greg Schiano project part 2 and will be tougher and smarter than in years past. You would HATE to have Rutgers 21 game Big Ten losing streak end in East Lansing. With Michigan and Iowa up next... This is a must win.

I see a 4-4 first year for coach Tucker... How do you think the Spartans will do this year?
