For the second time in a week, the Michigan State Spartans Men's basketball team has had to postpone a game due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the team.

According to MSUSpartans.com, January 17th's games against the Indiana Hoosiers has been postponed because of an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak within the Spartan's programs.  There is no report as to when the game will be rescheduled.

The announcement that the game against Indiana is postponed comes just days after last Thursday's game against the 5th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes was postponed because of 3 Spartans testing positive for COVID-19.  Tom Izzo's son, Steven Izzo, and his roomate Maddy Sissoko both tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the game against Iowa.  The third Spartan to have tested positive was not disclosed by the team.

There is no report as to when the game against Iowa will be rescheduled either.

The two postponed games set the Spartans even further back in terms of making the NCAA Tournament this year.  Michigan State is already in a position to miss the tournament for the first time in over 2 decades and not being able to play these two ranked teams severely hurts their chances at turning their season around.  There are only 13 games left in the Big Ten season.

Michigan State's next contest isn't until January 23rd when they face off against the 14th ranked Illinois Fighting Illini.
