MSU will grant FOX Sports marketing and corporate partnership rights associated with its 25 varsity sports programs starting in the academic year 2016-17. FOX Sports has similar agreements with other prestigious schools like Auburn, USC and the entire Big East conference.

According to the report, the 15 year deal will provide revenues of over $150 million. Prior to the deal, Michigan State was the last school of the "Power 5" conferences to manage its multimedia rights in-house.

Michigan State already has a lot of involvement with FOX Sports with Spartan programming appearing on Fox Sports Detroit and, the majority FOX owned, Big Ten Network.

Athletic Director Mark Hollis on the partnership “Now is the right time and FOX Sports is the right partner for Michigan State. FOX Sports can focus on building the Michigan State brand and leverage synergies with the FOX Sports family of networks, including FOX Sports Detroit and BTN."

Kyle Sherman, president of FOX College Properites said "We are proud to partner with Michigan State Athletics and its roster of long-term, committed corporate sponsors, this is a special opportunity, and one we are committed to growing in the finest traditions of Michigan State Athletics.”

The Spartan Sports Network will still be in existence and work closely with FOX sports to handle live radio broadcasts, coaches shows and other programming.
