When it comes to the best food in America, perhaps there's no better source or expert than Food Network's Guy Fieri. He is the mayor of Flavortown, after all.

Guy has been traveling the nation in his red convertible looking for the most delicious food around for an incredible 35 seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Over 400 episodes featuring some of the yummiest food our country has to offer.

In Michigan alone, he's stopped at 18 different spots, including many right here in the Lansing area. So I was stoked to see Delish had put together a list of the best of the best of Triple D's stops. Meaning, that we would see which of the featured Michigan restaurants came out on top.

The Best Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Spots in Michigan

It should go without saying that I was hoping to see a Lansing favorite make the list for the best in Michigan, however, any Michigan restaurant is a win in my book. Sadly, it wasn't a Lansing locale that made the list, but it was Ferndale's Fly Trap.

The Fly Trap is a beloved Ferndale Diner that serves up delicious and well-made classics with a bit of a twist.

The Fly Trap in Ferndale

Sadly, the original owners closed The Fly Trap back in September of 2021. However, The Fly Trap reopened back in March of this year (2022) because a loyal "trapper" (the name for their regulars) bought it. Since then, he's kept things pretty much the same, with the mentality of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". And seeing as how it was named the best of Michigan's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, they probably don't need to. I mean...you saw that picture of their food above, right?

Congrats to The Fly Trap for topping the 'best of' list! If you want to see some of the other Michigan restaurants featured on the Food Network, check out the gallery below.

Lansing Restaurants That Should Be Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

The Lansing restaurants listed below are gems of the city. If you haven't been to all of them yet, add them to your list. We think Guy Fieri should add them to his list as well so he can feature them the next time he comes back to Lansing for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Most Interesting Pizza Topping Combos in the Lansing Area

Pizza has to be one of America's favorite foods. As Americans, we consume around 3 billion pizzas each year, which evens out to about 23 pounds per person per year. And that's a heck of a lot of pizza. With so many people eating so much pizza, of course, we're going to see some awesome variety when it comes to toppings, from the standard to the wacky. If you want to step outside of your comfort zone and take your tastebuds on an adventure, check out some of these Lansing area restaurants that have the most unique pizza topping combos around.
