Michigan or Wisconsin: Which is the TRUE “Mitten” State?

What's all this stuff about Wisconsin calling itself the "Real" Mitten State? This has been going on for quite a number of years.

In 2011, the Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism used an image of (what looks like) a mangled mitten to resemble their state. Well, I hate to burst any Wisconsin cheese bubbles, but Michigan is the one and ONLY Mitten State.

Wisconsin looks more like an old catcher's mitt that got chewed up by the neighbor's dog. If they're trying to figure out just what exactly the shape of their state looks like, I have a few suggestions for 'em...scroll down and take a look:

Or, if you don't agree with any of the above, you could always call it "The Amoeba State", as it looks like a huge germ no matter which way you turn it.

But don't try to steal our mitten.
