Anna Chatten was at the Indy 500 last weekend. She'll be at the Detroit Grand Prix this weekend. But she won't be there as a spectator. She'll be back in the one of the garages working on gear boxes for the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team. According to ClickOnDetroit, she's a race mechanic, a mom and a Michigander now. She lives in Brighton with her husband and two daughters, who are three and four years old

Anna works on the gear boxes for the #24 and #48 cars driven by Sage Karam and JR Hildenbrand. Last week at Indy, Karam finished 19th and Hildenbrand finished 20th.

In 2009, she was the first female pit crew member at the Indy 500, but now she works on the cars' gear boxes, behind the scenes in the garages. Gear boxes are pretty intricate things. I'm guessing she puts all the toys together on Christmas.
