Effective today (Thursday, March 19th) at 8 a.m.,  the Michigan DNR has shut down all DNR staffed shooting ranges in Michigan.

This includes all DNR shooting ranges, including the two closest to Lansing, Rose Lake and Dansville. These are now "closed to the public until further notice". Of course gun sales are soaring all across America during this crisis, as people are feeling a little "on edge" about what may happen next.  But now - fewer places (at least in Michigan) to practice for first-time buyers..

According the DNR website:

In accordance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the DNR has closed several public facilities until further notice. Events scheduled to take place at these facilities have been canceled or postponed.
