Michigan Campsites Still Open – Services Reduced
Wednesday, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced State-managed lands, trails and parks will remain open right now and campgrounds at state parks will remain open as well. However, there will be changes to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
According to MLive.com, trails and parks and campgrounds currently open will remain open, but state park headquarters buildings are closed to the public. In addition, at modern campgrounds, the toilet-shower buildings are closed (foiled again, toilet paper thieves!) These closures are in effect until May 15th. Mini-cabins, cabins, yurts, shelters and lodges are also closed until May 15.
Sorry. I know you were looking forward to staying in that yurt.
