For the first time in the 40 year history of Baseball America's college baseball rankings, a Michigan team sits atop them.

The University of Michigan baseball team finds themselves Baseball America's top ranked team, following a 3-1 Arizona trip in which they defeated some of the best teams in the nation.

The Wolverines, who were national runners-up after losing to Vanderbilt in the College World Series last June, got revenge defeating the pre-season #1 ranked Commodores to kick off their weekend.

The Wolverines also defeated third ranked Arizona State and Cal Poly to start their season.

This feat was similar to Michigan's basketball team's start to the season, in which they won the Battle for Atlantis with impressive wins over North Carolina and Gonzaga. they have since slipped into mediocrity. Here's hoping the baseball team doesn't do that.
