From the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook and ESPN's David Pardum, the Jim Harbaugh effect has a huge reach. A reach so big it can be observed in Vegas futures bets for the 2016 College Football Championship.

As of this writing, the top five most bet on teams to raise the College Football Playoff title on January 11 in Glendale in terms of total dollars bet are: Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame and then Michigan.

Though it may be way too early, the preseason coaches poll has those five teams ranked as follows: 1st, 3rd, 7th, 11th and unranked. Michigan got one 25th placed vote out of 64 total ballots cast. If the rankings went down that far, the Wolverines would be tied for 51st in the rankings.

Michigan is also fifth in terms of total bets placed on the 2016 championship.

Ohio State has four times more money wagered than Alabama.

Pardum reports that Michigan is currently a 100-1 long shot to win the 2016 Championship in Glendale. Ohio State by comparison is the favorite at 5-2.

A note for fun, the Big Ten as a conference is currently favored to claim the title on January 11th, whether it be Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State or any of the other 11 Big Ten teams at +180.

The Big 12 is second at +220, then the SEC comes in third at 2-1. The Pac-12 at 4/1 and finally the ACC at 18/1 round out the big five conferences. Field bets as of right now are listed at 60/1.

Guess the SEC isn't king anymore, despite their eight teams in the top 25.
