The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) has announced on Thursday morning that starting this fall (2017), the MHSAA will create a second, 16-team 8-man football tournament.

The MHSAA has sponsored 8-man football since 2011, and with the amount of teams eligible for 8-man football increasing to 60, the Association has decided to double the amount of teams eligible for the postseason.  It will be divided into 2 16-team tournaments based on enrollment.

Powers-North Central has won the 8-Player Football championship the last two years.
