A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in a downtown East Lansing parking garage late Thursday night.

Michael Smith, of DeWitt Township, was shot multiple times in the Grove Street parking ramp just before midnight, according to East Lansing police. Another man, also in his early 20s and from DeWitt Township, was shot, but received non-life-threatening injuries and has been treated and released from a local hospital.

Neither victim is an MSU student, according to police.

East Lansing police say there are two suspects:the first suspect is described as a black male, 5’9” tall; weighing between 160 and 185 pounds, last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’11’ tall; weighing approximately 200 pounds. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle described as a red, four-door sedan, possibly a Lincoln or Dodge.
