Lansing is starting to really come to life. In the past few years many changes have occurred in our great city. The downtown area has a revamped City Market by the minor league baseball park. And there have been many additions of restaurants and shops. Now we can only hope that the casino we be built and opened down the road.

The mayor Virg Bernero has really helped the cause for Lansing's metamorphosis. With the great work of developers Joel Ferguson, Pat Gillespie, The Eyde Family and other individuals like Bob Trezise, Tim Damon, Lansing's City Council and LPD Chief Mike Yankowski.

Lansing has other areas beside the downtown area. There is Old Town and Reo Town. Both these areas have started to thrive with development and new businesses too. It really is amazing how all three areas are starting to come together all at the same time.

I was born in 1959; my parents lived on Sunnyside by the Sycamore ball park. I attended Mt. Hope School until third grade. Then my parents and I moved to Delta Township. Now, many years later I am  married at 56 years of age. My wife Carole, who owns Mijo's Diner with my stepson Tony Kovac, bought a home in Lansing in 2015 and love it.

Listen up: Lansing is now turning into a great place to live. Take advantage of so many things to do and places to go. This casino needs to be built and soon.
