The University of Louisville men's basketball program has put themselves on a one-year tournament ban as the NCAA continues to investigate into the recruiting and sex scandal that has plagued the program for the last year.

The school announced the sanctions at a press conference on Friday afternoon.  A book written by Katina Powell that was published last year alleged that she provided women for sex to current and former players, as well as recruits at one of the school dormitories.

She also contends that a former member of the basketball staff hired these women between 2010 and 2014.

Louisville won the National Championship in 2013 under Head Coach Rick Pitino (pictured), and the Cardinals are 18-4 this season with a Top 20 national ranking.
