Fred McLeod, who called Detroit Pistons games for more than two decades on TV, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67 on Monday evening.

McLeod, an Ohio native, was also a Detroit TV sportscaster at WJBK-TV 2 and WDIV-TV 4 throughout the 1980's and 1990's.  After leaving the Pistons in 2006, he returned to Ohio to call Cleveland Cavaliers games on Fox Sports Ohio, where he called the Cavaliers NBA championship season in 2016.

And this year, he called three of the four Detroit Lions preseason games on television.  He did the same for the Lions for six seasons in the 1980's.
