Detroit Lions' second-year wide receiver Quintez Cephus (pictured on the golf cart after his injury) broke his collarbone in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, according to media reports.

It's not official yet, but Cephus, who played his college ball at Wisconsin and was the Lions' 5th round pick last season, is expected to be put on injured reserve and could miss the remainder of the season.  If he is put on IR this week, he'll become the 13th player to join IR since the start of training camp.

Other prominent players on IR include Frank Ragnow, Romeo Okwara, Jeff Okudah, Taylor Decker, and rookie backup cornerback Ifeatu Melifonwu.

Quintez has 15 catches for 204 yards and two touchdowns in the first five games this season.  He had 20 catches for 349 yards and two scores in 2020 (his rookie year).

Without Cephus, the Lions have five wide receivers still on the active roster.  They are Khaderal Hodge, Kalif Raymond, rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown, Trinity Benson, and Tom Kennedy.  They also have wideout Tyrell Williams on IR due to a concussion.  And they have wide receiver Geronimo Allison on the practice squad.

The 0-5 Lions have lost a pair of 19-17 games this season on last-second field goals.  Two weeks ago to Baltimore at Ford Field and Sunday at Minnesota.  They also lost a one-score game to San Francisco on Opening Day at Ford Field 41-33.

The Lions will host the 3-2 Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday afternoon at Ford Field.  You can hear coverage of the game on The Game 730 AM WVFN, beginning with the pregame at 12 noon.
