With a dearth of healthy, veteran tight ends on the roster, the Detroit Lions signed TE Andrew Quarless to a deal on Monday morning.

Quarless, however, is suspended for the first two games of the regular season due to a gun incident from last summer.

Quarless has played in the NFL previously with the Green Bay Packers for the last six seasons.  He has 89 career receptions for 940 yards and 6 touchdowns.
