Jim Caldwell to the Lions, Wolverines top Penn State

Here are your top stories for Wednesday, January 15th:

- The Lions hire Jim Caldwell. I have some more expanded thoughts on the hiring here.

-  Former Philadelphia Eagles QB coach Bill Lazor is expected to be Caldwell's offensive coordiantor.

-  The Michigan basketball team moved to 12-4 on the season and 4-0 in the Big Ten with a win over Penn State.  The Wolverines got 21 points. six rebounds and five assists from Nik Staukas.  Michigan has gotten off to a great start in Big 10 play without Mitch McGary, but their schedule gets much tougher soon.  U of M goes to Wisconsin on Saturday, then they play Iowa and Michigan State next week.

-  The #3 ranked Wisconsin badgers suffered their first loss of the season on the road against Indiana.  Yogi Ferrell had 25 points for the Hoosiers.
