This is Michigan, for crying out loud.  We aren't like California or Florida where the weather is warm for almost all of the 12 months of the year.  We only get about 4 months of warm weather here (give or take a few weeks).

In recent years, it has become popular to "look ahead to the fall" when we get to summer.  Especially after the July 4th holiday.  And yes, I like fall weather...WHEN IT'S SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER!!!!  But it's June right now.  Let's get outside and enjoy the warm weather!!!

There is no excuse for most people to get outside and enjoy the thousands of inland lakes that dot the Michigan landscape.  Whether it's fishing, boating, swimming, or other water sports.

And of course, we are blessed to have four of the five Great Lakes all around us.  We are so fortunate here in live here in Michigan and we don't even realize it.

The Michigan landscape is perfect for outdoor bicycling.  And there are too many places to count where you can do that.  IMO, Mackinac Island is right at the top of the list for bicycling in Michigan.

There's of course, tons of baseball being played this summer.  From the Detroit Tigers to the Michigan teams in the High-A Midwest League (Lansing Lugnuts, West Michigan Whitecaps, Great Lakes Loons), to the teams in the college woodbat Northwoods League that has four Michigan participants (Traverse City Pit Spitters, Kalamazoo Growlers, Battle Creek Battle Jacks, and the first-year Royal Oak Leprechauns).

That doesn't even count the hundreds of amateur teams, youth travel teams, and countless fast and slow-pitch softball teams and leagues all over the state.  Get out there and check out some games.

Let's not worry about fall just yet!  It'll get here soon enough.  Let's enjoy summer for awhile!!!
