Staudt on Sports has confirmed that one of the greatest coaches in Michigan High School Basketball history, Paul Cook, passed away on Tuesday night, according to multiple family members.

Cook is one of the only coaches in Michigan history to win a state title in boys basketball (Eastern, 1980) and girls basketball (1995, Lansing Catholic).

Cook had health issues in recent years, the court at Eastern High School's Don Johnson is named in his honor.  Cook was 89 years old.
