The LiAngelo Ball experiment in Detroit has come to an end as the Pistons cut Ball from the roster Monday.

This news probably doesn't come as a surprise to most Pistons fans, but LaVar Ball definitely did not take the news of his son being cut well. Most Pistons fans were a little surprised to see that Detroit picked up Ball on a conditional contract. It felt like a publicity move at the time, and it was assumed that he would be shoveled off to the Pistons G-League affiliate.

Detroit decided to just skip the G-League process, and just cut Ball indefinitely.

After the news broke that LiAngelo was no longer in Detroit, his outspoken dad LaVar aired out a few of his thoughts. He participated in an AMA with Bleacher Report about the news, and ripped into the Pistons.

The people in Detroit are great. I love the fans, but the franchise over there is raggedy as hell. They don't know a good player. I was giving them a lottery pick for free! They're gonna learn the hard way. My boys are gonna end up together playing somewhere. 'Gelo can shoot the lights out. That was raggedy what they did. But hey, they're gonna learn the hard way

Even though there's no video that I could find of him of him saying this, I can only hear it in my head as a SNL skit.

LaVar will have plenty of ammunition to go after Detroit this season, because they probably are not going to be very good. They basically wiped out their entire roster in the off season to get younger players. It will take a few years to see exactly what this group will be able to do.

No matter how good or bad the Pistons are this year though, LiAngelo would have made zero impact on the team. He would have been amazingly lucky to even make the final roster, much less see any game time action.

Ball will most likely end up in the G-League with a team that is looking for some publicity.
