We have reached the regional phase of the boys high school basketball tournament.  Eight area teams are still alive for regional titles to be decided on Wednesday.

Monday's games are: in Class A, Eastern takes on Ann Arbor Skyline and then Holt will play Kalamazoo Central.  These games are at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix HS.

In Class B at Spring Arbor College, Lansing Catholic faces Wayland, followed by Leslie, with one of he best scorers in the area Matt Subject, taking on highly ranked Jackson Lumen Christi.

In Class C, 20-2 Pewamo-Westphalia will battle Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian at Montabella HS.

In Class D at Big Rapids, Fulton faces Muskegon Catholic Central.  And at Morenci, 16-5 Morrice, with Griffin Lewis having a great year, taking on Bellevue.

Now for the predictions:  In Class A, I think Eastern gets by AA Skyline.  the Eagles lack of experience hurts them, IMO (this is their first trip ever to the regionals).  And I think K'zoo Central will beat Holt in a close game.

In Class B, I've got Lumen Christi over Leslie and Wayland in a tight one over Lansing Catholic.  Lumen could go all the way.

In Class C, I think P-W wins easily.  They could end up in the Breslin Center.  And in Class D, I think both Fulton and Morrice will advance.

I'll discuss the girls basketball quarterfinals on Tuesday.  But until then, this is Brock Palmbos....signing off.
