Lansing Lugnuts win 1500th game
There have been 22 years of Lansing Lugnuts baseball, with 14 managers and 703 players (and counting) representing Mid Michigan in the Midwest League.
The Lugnuts won their 1500th game as a franchise last night in South Bend, knocking off the Cubs, 5-1, thanks to a tremendous effort from Patrick Murphy.
A quick, fun comparison:
- Arizona Diamondbacks, all-time: 1527-1593
- Lansing Lugnuts, all-time: 1500-1448
- Tampa Bay Rays, all-time: 1441-1678
Also last night, Dwight Smith, Jr., a 2013 Lugnuts outfielder, made his Major League debut with the Toronto Blue Jays. He became the 120th Nut to reach The Show, the 3rd this season. Here's the full list.
