The first-year Lansing Ignite FC is in first place in the United Soccer League (USL) League One after a 4-1 thrashing of North Texas SC on Thursday night in Lansing's Cooley Law School Stadium.

With the victory, the Ignite have 39 points on the season (10-5-9 record), one point in front of North Texas.  However, North Texas has played three fewer games than Lansing.

The top four teams in USL League One make the playoffs (set for October).  And the top two teams get home field advantage for the semifinals.

Lansing's next game is on September 6th at FC Tucson (AZ), the next home game is on September 14 against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
