Lansing Catholic HS Runner Wins HS Student-Athlete Of The Week
Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission presents the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.
And this week's honoree is Josie Bishop, a freshman on the state championship Lansing Catholic girls cross-country team.
Josie completed her debut season in high school running as an All-Stater, She finished 20th in the Division 3 state championship meet last week at Michigan International Speedway with an excellent time of 19:01.8.
And more importantly, she led her team to the Division 3 state team title as four of her teammates finished in the top 60 in the final race as the lady Cougars beat runner-up Pewamo-Westphalia by 11 points in the final standings.
Josie is a great student, with a 4.0 grade point average. And she is a three-sport athlete at LCHS, playing basketball in the winter and running track this coming spring.
