We are back from the holiday break, so we will be getting into full swing in the next week or two.

There are only three unbeaten teams left in the area:  Williamston (6-0), Olivet (6-0), and Ovid-Elsie (6-0).

But there are other quality teams with only one loss, they are: East Lansing (6-1), Okemos (4-1), Holt (3-1), Ionia (6-1), Lakewood (6-1), Fowler (4-1), and Potterville (3-1).

East Lansing plays in two of the top games this week:  @ Holt on Tuesday and on Thursday at Okemos.  Stockbridge at Olivet on Friday will help unclog the three-team jumble at the top of the GLAC.  And longtime rivals Fowler and P-W do battle Tuesday night at P-W.

Ok, here's this week's boys rankings:

Mid-Michigan High School Boys Basketball Top 10—1/11/22

Here's a look at the top 10 teams in the Lansing area in boys basketball.

From here until the end of the season, both the boys and girls rankings will be updated on a weekly basis (girls on Monday, boys on Tuesday).  If they're not, then Brock screwed up.

Don't forget, you can hear high school basketball here on The Game 730 AM WVFN every Tuesday and Thursday/Friday for the remainder of the winter.  Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love will have the call every week.

We will have the East Lansing @ Holt game on Tuesday night, and then either DeWitt @ surging Waverly or East Lansing at Okemos on Thursday.  The Portland at Lansing Catholic girls game on Friday night is a possibility as well.

And it's brought to you all season long by Wayne Lacy and his staff at Cherry Creek Mortgage Company in DeWitt.  Give them a call at 517-580-5050 and ask them about any kind of home loan and/or mortgage.

You Think This Year's Team Is Bad? These Past Detroit Lions Teams Didn't Do Too Hot Either

Ah, our good old Lions. Most Michiganders know only the love-hate relationship that we share with the team. I mean, how could you not love the hapless Lions? They're our home team. With that being said though, they've had a win-less season before, which stings. Check out some not-so-good past years for the Detroit Lions.
