Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 Poll (After Week 7)
Three undefeated teams remain in the area as we reach the final stages of the regular season. As Vermontville Maple Valley was shut out by Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian, 38-0 in 8-Player football.
And congratulations are in order for the Mason Bulldogs, as they clinched the outright CAAC Red title with a 55-13 win over St. Johns. They're the first team to clinch an outright conference title this season.
Two more league titles will be clinched this week. If P-W beats Saranac, the Pirates win another outright CMAC championship. And the winner of the Portland-Sexton game wins the outright CAAC White championship.
But there are still plenty of games to be played with major playoff implications in the last two weeks. Two games this week stand above all the rest:
Undefeated Mason, ranked number 1 in the state in Division 3, heads to undefeated and ranked number 2 Walled Lake Western. And on Lansing's west side, the undefeated Portland Raiders are at the unbeaten Sexton J-Dubbs.
Lots of other good games as well, P-W hosts Saranac, Holt is at East Lansing, DeWitt is at Everett, Williamston hosts Sparta, Fowler is at Laingsburg, and 5-2 Perry (the first team left out of the poll this week) is at winless Lakewood.
We will have the Portland at Sexton game on The Game 730 AM WVFN this week. It's a special early time as we'll go on the air at 5:00pm with kickoff from Ed Madjeski Stadium at 6:00pm. Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love will be on the call for that contest which will decide the CAAC White championship this season.
Ok, on with this week's rankings:
