Portland took command of the CAAC White with a big fourth quarter to put away Charlotte 40-13 last Friday night on the road.

Drew Miller's 200+ rushing yards and four touchdowns would have been the best performance of the night most weeks.  But not this week, as Grand Ledge QB Shawn Foster rushed for 396 yards and SEVEN touchdowns against DeWitt.  You can't forget Mason's A.J. Martel, who continues his great senior season with three more touchdowns against Eastern.  And how about Sexton's John Douglas?  He ran for 220 yards and six touchdowns against Eaton Rapids.  Check out some more great performances here

There was some jumbling around in the top 10 this week as DeWitt dropped out and Lakewood made their way in this week in advance of their GLAC title matchup against Olivet this Friday.  Also, Portland and Fowler moved up while Charlotte and Waverly dropped down.

Alright, on with this week's poll:

Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 Teams (After Week 6)

There are lots of big games this week as conference play finishes up in the CAAC Red, CAAC White, and GLAC.  If Mason beats St. Johns on the road, the Red is theirs.  If Portland beats Lansing Catholic at home, the Raiders own the White.  And the Olivet at Lakewood winner will take the GLAC title outright.

Many other games have playoff point implications.  Among them are Waverly at East Lansing, Haslett at Williamston, Charlotte at Sexton, Perry at Stockbridge, Laingsburg at Fowler, and Dansville at Bath.  And there's a big one for playoff positioning in 8-Player football on Saturday, as 3-3 Portland St. Patrick is at 4-2 Fulton.

Our tentative broadcast this Friday night will be 4-2 Haslett at 5-1 Williamston.  Brock Palmbos will have the pregame at 6:00pm and then Erik "Doc" Love will join Brock from Larkin-Nortmann Memorial Field for the game broadcast just before 7:00pm.
