Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 (After Week 4)
The DeWitt at East Lansing game lived up to the hype. Backup running back Jace Clarizio's 27 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter and then subsequent interception in the last two minutes gave the Trojans a big 36-30 home victory over the Panthers in the debut of the FieldTurf field at Lynn C. Adams Stadium.
The same 10 teams that were in the poll last week are in the poll this week. However the order is different, given the results of last Friday.
Mason took command of the CAAC Red with a big 37-29 road win at previously unbeaten Williamston. And Waverly suffered their first loss of the season to arch-rival Grand Ledge 37-20 (the first team out of this week's poll) on Friday.
There are only four undefeated teams left in the Mid-Michigan area (five if you count 8-man powerhouse Morrice): East Lansing, Mason, Charlotte, and Fowler.
But there are a slew of quality 3-1 teams out there. Such as Grand Ledge, Haslett, Williamston, Waverly, Portland, etc. And maybe the best 2-2 team in the entire state in DeWitt.
Here's a look at this week's top 10 poll:
