Lansing-Area Girls Basketball Top 10 Poll – February 18th

Portland is the first school to clinch an outright league championship in area girls high school basketball, as they defeated Eaton Rapids last Friday night, 35-20.

Two more leagues can be clinched this week, as DeWitt can win the outright CAAC Blue title if they defeat Waverly on the road on Thursday night.  And Haslett can win the CAAC Red if they knock off Eastern on Wednesday night.

The district pairings for the girls state tournament will be released next Sunday.  The area districts will be posted on TheGame730am.com next week.

Some of the notable games this week include:  On Tuesday, Haslett is at East Lansing, Portland is at Charlotte, Fowler is at Lansing Christian, and Ovid-Elsie hosts Hemlock.

On Wednesday, Haslett is at Eastern, P-W is at New Lothrop, and Portland St. Pats is at Bellevue.

Thursday's action features:  DeWitt at Waverly, East Lansing hosts Okemos, and Ovid-Elsie hosts Byron.  On Friday, Haslett is at St. Johns.

We will have the DeWitt at Waverly game on our airwaves this week.  Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love will have the call from Phil Odlum Gymnasium just before 6:00pm.
