The game of the year in girls basketball lived up to all the hype.  As Haslett beat DeWitt 55-52 last Tuesday night at Haslett High School.  And it would've went to overtime except Maddie Uyl's banked three-pointer just missed at the buzzer.

Which opens a spot up for Lansing Catholic.  The lady Cougars suffered some early losses, but have righted themselves and have taken command in the CAAC White after knocking off Portland on the road last Friday night.

And I almost forgot, congratulations are in order for legendary Portland St. Patrick head coach Al Schraben became only the fourth coach in Michigan high school history to win 700 games in girls basketball when his team beat Morrice last week.  He's one of the all-time greats.

Some of the big games this week are:

On Tuesday, Haslett hosts Marshall, DeWitt is at St. Johns, and P-W is at Dansville.

On Thursday, Mason is at Haslett, St. Johns is at Williamston, Olivet is at Stockbridge, Potterville is at Dansville, and Fowler is at P-W.

And on Friday night, improving Waverly is at DeWitt and Ionia is at Lansing Catholic.

And Brock Palmbos will recap all the girls (and boys) basketball action this Saturday morning from 10am-11am with High School Rewind.  On your trusted source for high school basketball, The Game 730 AM WVFN.
